Given a potential field, we need to determine the most suitable approach to explore the reservior and production processes for an maximum production and recovery rate, provided with a reasonable costs Using PGI software and expertise in heavy oil, first of all we can determine the most profitable production strategy for required production efficiently. Secondly we have developed a comprehensive numerical model for heavy oil production, particularly for SAGD process. In this model, finite element method was used, a fully coupled five-phase model with oil, water, gas, steam, and solid flow are included. Thirdly, several multiphase pipe flow models with steam and temperature coupling are simultanousely calculated with reservoir models. Finally, production and reservoir modeling with their economic benifit are considered all together. This project has been partially funded by NSERC. |
